The opportunity

This is an opportunity to lead our UK SME eTrade Pricing Team which provides actuarial services contributing to the achievement of our SME strategy & objectives, and to the provision of a high quality and cost-effective service to customers. As the team leader, you will be leading our growing and high-performing SME eTrade Pricing team to help support our growing portfolio of small/medium-sized businesses.

What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Head of Retail Pricing, you will be responsible for:

  • Pricing strategy – formulating and executing overall strategy for the eTrade pricing team in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring the team is set up for success in both the short and longer term
  • Pricing analysis – instigating and overseeing high-quality pricing analyses, leading the implementation of model improvements and further data enrichment to enhance the quality of our pricing.
  • Portfolio monitoring – developing our portfolio monitoring framework, ensuring outputs that can enable timely and accurate tracking of performance, and extensive insight to improve profitability
  • Process Improvement – leading the development of efficient and robust systems & processes through innovation
    People management – managing a team of actuaries with a range of experience levels, supporting their technical and professional development and equipping them for successful careers
  • Collaborating – building strong relationships with, and influencing, a variety of key stakeholders, providing a first class service & trusted pricing input into key business decisions
  • Professionalism – Demonstrating excellent knowledge of relevant actuarial disciplines and standards, to ensure you are able to provide first class service to our stakeholders and act as a strong role model to the Pricing team
  • Culture – leading by example to nurture a friendly, positive and supportive team environment

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in a general insurance pricing management role
  • Experience within a successful digitally traded retail pricing team
  • Experience collaborating with a wide range of senior stakeholders
  • Excellent market, risk and business awareness
  • Advanced knowledge of SME insurance products and digital insurance trading
  • Highly numerate and analytical, with strong technical ability & financial awareness
  • Excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills
