London / Hybrid working with 1-2 days per week in London office

£85,000 – £100,000 + Bonus & Benefits

Our client is looking for an innovative London Market Pricing Actuary to work within their Syndicate Pricing team where you will have the opportunity to lead and experiment with innovative Pricing measures across multiple portfolios

Responsibilities

You will be expected to work on key role components as well as ad-hoc projects & tasks such as:

  • Leading Pricing projects and liaising with underwriters to effectively communicate actuarial analysis to optimise Prices.
  • Work closely with the Reserving and Capital teams
  • Engage (either hands on or delegate to team members) in data science techniques and work on a ‘blank sheet of paper’ basis to experiment with innovative Pricing methodologies.
  • Regular support and communication with other pricing teams, underwriters, and the claims teams.
  • Conducting analysis for multiple portfolios including aviation, space and marine
  • Provide pricing insights and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders to support business decisions.
  • Develop strong and trusted relationships with underwriters, and lead pricing recommendation discussions with insurers underwriting and actuarial teams.

Key Skills/Experience

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with non-technical colleagues.
  • Strong leadership and teamworking skills
  • SQL and R experience is sought after but not required
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent market knowledge
  • GI/London Market Pricing experience is required
  • Leadership experience is advantageous but not required
  • Innovative thinker and eager to push boundaries.
