An exciting opportunity for a Pricing Consultant to join a growing Pricing function. As a Pricing Consultant, you will assist with pricing to enhance customer outcomes, contribute to the insurance strategy and overall profitability of the function.

Our client is looking for an experienced Pricing Consultant (or Pricing Analyst looking to take a step up) with a track record of Personal Lines pricing across Motor, Home, Pet, Travel or Private Medical Insurance or an experienced Actuarial Analyst looking to make a move into General Insurance.

Working closely with the Pricing Manager, you will develop and implement complex solutions to continuously enhance pricing strategies.

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to explore new technologies and contribute to strategic changes, such as advancing model sophistication and applying the latest data science techniques for profitable growth.

This role emphasises research and development, ideal for a self-motivated individual with the desire to drive complex projects from concept to implementation. Additionally, this is a great opportunity to gain managerial experience with up to three direct reports.

Key responsibilities of the Pricing Consultant:

  • Analyse and interpret business data to identify market trends, product opportunities, and emerging rating factors, using advanced techniques like machine learning.
  • In this role you’ll provide a lead in the development, implementation and testing of general insurance demand and competitor models to ensure effective market understanding and to maintain market par capability.
  • Develop and implement pricing models using tools like Radar, ensuring adherence to pricing fairness and data usage policies.

Experience required:

  • Proven experience of working in a Pricing team, with personal accountability for the delivery of modelling or innovation work
  • Direct involvement in building pricing models, including specific responsibility for the end-to-end design of the model build, whether GLMs/GBMs or Machine Learning methods
  • Expert product knowledge for the market sector you’re operating in and a proven ability to conduct peer reviews.
  • Experience of managing or mentoring colleagues is desirable
