Our client, a market-leading Big 3 Consultancy, is looking for a Part Qualified Pensions Actuary to join their growing Pensions Consulting team. This role can be based from a number of offices across the UK, with hybrid-working on offer as standard. Most colleagues are in the office 2 – 3 days a week.

The Part Qualified Pensions Actuary would suit someone who has moved from a ‘do-er’ role into a ‘checker’ role for most, or all, of their client work.

The Part Qualified Pensions Actuary position comes with full Actuarial study support, including study days and financial support to cover exam entries/materials.

Responsibilities of the Part Qualified Pensions Actuary:

  • Working with more senior colleagues to advise a range of Corporate and Trustee pension schemes
  • Opportunities for split roles combining core consulting with specialist areas such as Risk Transfer, Member Options or GMP Equalisation
  • Undertaking individual member calculations, valuations and accounting disclosures
  • Reviewing some work carried out by more junior colleagues
  • Opportunities to attend some client meetings and manage delivery of client work
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of clients, providing updates on a variety of issues
  • Opportunities to mentor and train more junior Actuarial colleagues

Skills/Experience Required for the Part Qualified Pensions Actuary:

  • Part Qualified Actuary making initial progress through the Actuarial exams or non-studier with relevant experience
  • Prior DB Pensions Consulting role or BPA experience from a Life Insurance role
  • Strong communication skills
