Working for a key regulatory body, you will be a key part of a team of 10 responsible for policy setting, review and reform as well as providing actuarial support in a wide variety of matters. Around 50% of the work will be pensions specific, and could include reviewing Technical Actuarial Standards (e.g. TAS300), reviewing the tPR Funding Code, standards surrounding CDC schemes, factor reviews etc. 50% is non sector-specific, and you’d be working along side other actuaries from a Life and GI background.
Whilst technical knowledge is important, it also requires excellent interpersonal skills. The ability to discuss a broad range of topics, understand differing viewpoints, negotiate solutions with different audiences and operate with a high level of credibility.
Ideally you’ll be comfortable spending a day or two in the London office on average per week, but let me know if this is an issue.
