This is a leading senior position within the highly successful Health Actuarial team at prominent EBC, working closely with their Management Consulting arm. In line with this business area growing at over 10% in revenue each year, this position offers a direct, obtainable route to Partner (dependant on level, could be reached within 2 years)
Due to the complexity of the Clients and projects involved, the individual should have extensive post-qualified experience across model assumptions, particularly those involving non-standard problems and working with complex data that is often not well-defined. In turn, this role will be best suited to a solutions-based individual who can provide resolutions and results for Client projects. In short- be comfortable with uncertainty.
The role
- Leading service delivery to a range of finance clients and actuarial projects, as well as large-scale management consulting projects for global entities (such as foreign government, large corporates, hospital groups) including:
- Project health-care related costs
- Financial analysis
- General underwriting of health and life insurance
- Review, validate and organise relevant complex data
- Pricing recommendations in relation to group risk and income protection, also for future costs
- Stochastic and cashflow modelling to optimise capital management
- Additional general risk management, accounting reporting
- Drafting client reports/ presentations summarising the above when a strategy/ solution is decided
The individual
- FIA with significant post-qualified experience (c10 years +), ideally in a leadership role managing client demands
- Modelling experience across Health, Life and/ or Mortality modelling, as well as working with large data quantities
- Pricing experience across health and group income protection products
- Advanced Excel and IT skills
- Pitching and relationship management experience- not a “new business” or origination role, but client/ internal relationship management required
- Economically aware- good understanding of relevant economic variables and delivering financial projections in line with this
- Analytical, problem-solver, solutions-based mindset
