What stood out to you about Aon?

I chose to join Aon because of the company’s supportive nature towards helping graduates and future leaders achieve their full career potential.

What are your main duties?

During my time within STG, I have helped the team build and test an automated reserving system to increase the amount of time that insurance companies can effectively utilise the actuarial judgment their reserving actuaries possess. I’ve been involved in several projects, from developing an end-to-end dataset to developing a parameterisation tool in Python and I have had the pleasure of working with a global team which brings its own challenges but has been important to my career development.

What do you find most rewarding and most challenging about your role?

I love the problem-solving nature of my role and that two days are never really the same. However, meetings can still be a challenge for me, I am working on my confidence to help me present my ideas and suggestions in the best manner. The team have been very supportive and help me in any way they can!

Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to enter the profession?
